Exchange Traded Funds are a cost-effective way to achieve diversification across asset classes, industry sectors, and geographies. qplum invests in ETFs of stocks, bonds, and real estate, spread across the United States, Europe, developed, and emerging markets. Our Stock ETFs are composed of a variety of sectors, of small, medium and large cap stocks. Our fixed income ETFs combine government bonds, treasuries, municipal bonds, investment grade corporate bonds of high and low yield, Mortgage Backed Securities, etc. We invest in both US and International Real Estate. Most of our ETFs are from Vanguard.
All our ETFs are of extremely low expense ratio.
To save taxes through tax loss harvesting, we sell the ETFs in your portfolio to book losses. However, the wash-sale rule will prevent us from buying the same ETF within the next 30 days. This could mean that we miss opportunities to buy undervalued ETFs at low prices. To solve this, we have an alternative ETF for almost every important ETF we trade. For example, when we sell Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets ETF (VWO), we replace it in your portfolio with iShares Core MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (IEMG).
